How Do I Care for My Board?
Do Not Dish wash. - Do Not Soak.
Your new board has been pre-seasoned, however wash and oil prior to first use as directed below.
Wooden boards should only be hand-washed. They should never be run through the dishwasher or left to soak in the sink. Wash with hot, soapy water after each use then towel dry. Thoroughly air dry prior to storing. Dishwashing & soaking will damage the board beyond repair, so love your board & take care!
Long Term Care:
Boards should also be oiled on a semi-regular basis to help heal the surface and prevent damage to the wood. Oiling should be done whenever the board looks dull. Before oiling be sure the board is very clean and dry. My wood conditioner is a good option which is eco-friendly and has a combination of beeswax & coconut oil. A good soaking oil is Food Safe Mineral Oil. Avoid regular cooking oils as they will go rancid causing your board to smell and become sticky.
Do Not place in Dishwasher. - Do Not Soak.

An eco-friendly way to remove stains is to use salt & lemon:
Sprinkle coarse salt over the board.
Cut a lemon in half.
Using the cut side down scour the board squeezing the lemon gently in order to release the juice as you scrub.
Let everything sit for 5 minutes.
Rinse, wash, dry, and repeat (if necessary).
